Is this a real navigation app, or just a toy?

Both. Real turn-by-turn routing, search, and offline maps — all powered by OpenStreetMap, MapLibre, and OSRM under the hood. The reskin is a cosmetic layer on top of a fully-functional maps engine.

Are these the actual games' maps?

No. MapShifter is an independent project, not affiliated with Rockstar, Mojang, CD Projekt, Bethesda, or any other studio. Each "skin" is our own original art and typography inspired by the visual language of popular game cartographies. Style tributes, not copies.

Which iOS versions do you support?

iOS 17 and later, on iPhone. There's also a companion Apple Watch app and a home-screen widget for iPhone.

When's Android coming?

We're heads-down on iOS for now to nail the experience. Android is on the roadmap but has no firm date yet. Follow along for updates.

Do you track my location or sell my data?

No. We don't have an analytics SDK, we don't build user profiles, and we don't sell data — ever. Your location is used on-device to show you on the map and compute routes, and it's sent to OpenStreetMap-based search and routing services only when you actively use them. Will you add more skins?

Yes — new themes ship regularly. If you have an idea, email support@mapshifter.com — the best ones get built.
