Every interactive element — map controls, theme picker, route steps, compass, and achievements — has a descriptive accessibility label and, where useful, a hint. Decorative elements are hidden from the accessibility tree.
Text throughout the app uses Dynamic Type (iOS semantic font styles) and scales with your preferred reading size, up to the extra-large accessibility sizes.
Five of the seven map themes use a dark color scheme. Switching to a dark theme gives you a fully dark UI across all screens, sheets, and overlays — no half-measures.
Icons, map controls, and UI states use SF Symbols and directional shapes alongside color, so information is never conveyed by color alone.
Each theme pairs its background with high-contrast foreground colors and uses iOS semantic color roles (primary, secondary) so text and iconography remain readable in all lighting conditions.
Haptic feedback uses iOS sensoryFeedback, which automatically respects your Reduce Motion and Haptics settings at the system level. Map animations follow the same system preference.
